Whew, I cannot believe how long ago its been since I last wrote on my blog. This summer has been nuts – in a good way!
Let’s begin shall we…
A lot of our friends got married in 2011. So, I have been attending 5th year anniversary parties left and right. I have been to three, so far and were still not done!
We had our regional convention in August and I caught the worst cold I have had in awhile. I was hacking up a lung for over a week.
I started back on my healthy eating kick. I have to say I have been noticing not only physical changes to my body, but also in my gut. I deal with a lot of bloating and of course, its due to what I am putting in my body. So, I am trying to stay away from a lot of starches and refined sugar. And I am not a big sugar person but, I mean I want ice cream from time to time…that stuff is delicious!
Zach and I, spent many summer nights watching the sun set on Duke Side Willies outside bar and eating fried zucchini. We love it cause they have the best view of the city accross the Susquehanna river.
I believe our new favorite spot for a drink is at, The Millworks, new biergarten. Its on top of The Millworks roof and you can play Connect 4 and Janga. Its so cozy and relaxing. And its getting a lot of attention!
I have been listening to a lot of Lord Huron, Chairlift, The Head and the Heart along with splash of Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. Oh, and I can’t forget my Tame Impala dance parties.
We have a garden this year! I had my favorites – sunflowers growing in the yard. We are awaiting squash and yellow watermelon…my mom gave them to me from her garden and if I could suggest to anyone who have a small city garden – don’t plant those. It literally took over the whole garden! This year was our trial run so, at least we know were not killing anything. But, we have a good plan for next year so, I am hopeful.
The biggest excitement has to be that Zach and I are going on vacation the first week of October to California! We both wanted to do something we never got to do before, so we’ll start the trip in Santa Clara, followed with San Francisco and end in Sonoma. I will spare the details because I am going to have a post dedicated to our trip and the excitement is REAL!
I have been reading a lot lately! So, far I’ve read Just Kids by Patti Smith and The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman. I am currently reading, Yes Please by Amy Phoeler. I am thinking about writing what I thought of each book, so let me know what you guys think.
And last, but defintely not least, Stranger Things, is the best show I have watched in a very long time! I finished the whole season while laying on the couch sick and finished it in two days. That intro music is perfect! I loved that it was set in the ’80’s and those kids were awesome! Winona Ryder, can do no wrong, I love her. And who has Hopper and why did no one go searching for, Barb?
